Halloween!
Brian and Megan know how to throw a Halloween party, and we didn't let the fact that it snowed and was the coldest October 31st on record bother us one bit:)
I got the kids outside for about 2 minutes to take some quick pics in their costumes!
Mason as Iron Man!
Brian as some sort of zombie monster that was so realistic, Vince ran and hid from him for most of the night!
Elan the Shark!
Vince as Hulk Smash!!
Jaidie the Vampire Princess :)
She played the part excellently!
And after a very quick run around the block to gather candy, we all headed to the warm basement for a dance party!
My Vince...always with a ball in tow!
Soaking up one of the last warm fall days of the year...
the creek behind my Mom's house.
Our last trip down to Grandpa's farm before he passed away. It was a gorgeous day, and we worked hard to cut down several trees, split them, and stack them to help him and Grandma prepare for winter. Everyone was so happy and with all of us pitching in, we got so much done.
We made plans to help him get his garden started in the spring, and he told me he was ordering some chicks for Mason to raise.
A day I'll remember for always.
He was happy and in good spirits, he appeared healthy, and I didn't expect in the least that this would be our last time working on his farm together.
I'll miss his stories and his valuable life lessons, but one day we'll meet again.
Very recently he surprised me with a magazine subscription to teach me how start my own farm, and become more self sufficient working with the land.
