Our Year in Photos

Mason Brooks...nearly 17 months old! I haven't done this in a while, so here's what Mason is up to these days... He loves to be outside, even if it's raining and/or freezing. He loves to wrestle on the floor with his Dad. When he's relaxing in his carseat, or sitting on our laps on the couch, he crosses his little feet at his ankles.  I think it's one of the sweetest things ever ;) He always calls me Mama.  Most of the time he calls Josh Dad, but on more than one occasion I've heard him call for Josh!  This seriously cracks me up, but Josh doesn't see the humor in it. He loves Elmo and Sesame Street...especially a segment called " Dancing with Triangles "...check it out if you want, but it's really pretty annoying :)  This is the first thing we watch in the morning (every morning!) so we can get about 6 more minutes of sleep.  When he hears it come on, he runs over lightning fast to watch.  His vocabulary has grown so much in the last ...

This is what we're dealing with today....how's your Sunday going?!?!?   He's mad because it's raining and we can only push his car around the garage...he wants to walk around the neighborhood. I swear he gets this from his Dad ;)

We wear our sunglasses inside :) Not to be confused with the 1983 Corey Hart hit " Sunglasses at Night ."    and yessss, I do love this song ;) A song that Josh sings to me constantly...I have sensitive eyes and pretty much wear sunglasses 24/7.  Instead of making fun of me to my face, he just starts singing away...

  Little Emily :) She is a dark haired mini me of her bigger sis Hailey...and one of the happiest and most content babies I've ever seen!!   Isn't she just GORGEOUS!!!! I see alot of her mama in this picture, and can clearly remember playing just like this when we were little girls. Jaidie dressed Hailey up "princess style" and they were both loving the results :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!     We spent the first half of our Turkey Day with my family and then went to spend some time with Josh's family in the evening! A wonderful day indulging on waaaayyy too much food :)

This.Land.Is.Our.Land!!!!!! On the eve of Thanksgiving, we got the GREAT news!! We now own 5 acres of land on the East side of Danville in the Wexford Subdivision!! I feel like we've been looking for years, but we've finally the perfect spot to build our home. We actually saw this land about a year ago, but it sold before we could get it... It recently went back up for sale and we snatched it right up!! It's within walking distance to Ellis Park, a community swimming pool, and connects to paved walking/bike trails that wind around throughout Danville. We are sooosooo excited :) More pics to come once it stops raining around here :/

The Bolton's!! Two of our very best friends, with Marcus, who will one day be Mason's best friend :)  Pictures taken at the christmas tree farm!!  I really need to get Mason out there to snap some pics of him :)

 Boys and their toys!!! I know he was thinking "where have these wonderful toys been all my life?!?!" He is just now getting to experience swords, and guns, and other boy toys and he was in heaven!!  Mason and Elijah were fighting off the dinosaurs in the woods with swords and guns... The gun that made real shooting noises was his favorite :)   "Don't shoot, don't shoot!!!" Mason has no mercy...

Slumber Party at Aunt Lindsey's!!! We made popcorn and watched Shrek under a tent made of blankets!    Mason was the first one to fall asleep...and he sure does love his Jaidie ;)

And when they couldn't possibly play for one second longer, we load everyone up and head home :) Little angels getting some much needed rest :)

Mia May Looks sure can be deceiving.... She's the sweetest looking little thing, but this dog owned by my Sister is very devilish.  God made chihuahuas small so they couldn't cause any major havoc on those they love. She's super protective of the person whose lap she is sitting in at the moment and don't even think of coming near... Take your eye of her for one second and she'll have one of your fingers in between her very sharp teeth. Mason and Jaiden tease her any chance they get and both have suffered from Mia's vicious ways...still it doesn't seem to deter them!!

Saying Good-bye to the Bottles!! I'm maybe a little embarrased to admit just how long it has taken to get Mason off his bottle, but I can now happily (and truthfully) say... No more Ba-Ba's for Mason :) Only took 16 months and it was actually waaaayy easier than I thought it would be - we just switched him over to a sippy cup and he seems almost fine with it. I'm sure in a few weeks he won't even remember his Ba-Ba days!! I think it was hardest on me...no bottles mean my little guy is growing up.  One of my favorite parts of the day was rocking him to sleep while he drank his milk.

I know I'm probably biased, but don't our babies have the most beautiful eyes you've ever seen?!?! I mean, come on....LOOK at those lashes!!

Swinford Park with Elijah!! These kids play so well together and we have a great time when he comes up for a visit :)
