Mason Brooks...nearly 17 months old!
I haven't done this in a while, so here's what Mason is up to these days...

He loves to be outside, even if it's raining and/or freezing.
He loves to wrestle on the floor with his Dad.
When he's relaxing in his carseat, or sitting on our laps on the couch, he crosses his little feet at his ankles.  I think it's one of the sweetest things ever ;)
He always calls me Mama.  Most of the time he calls Josh Dad, but on more than one occasion I've heard him call for Josh!  This seriously cracks me up, but Josh doesn't see the humor in it.
He loves Elmo and Sesame Street...especially a segment called "Dancing with Triangles"...check it out if you want, but it's really pretty annoying :)  This is the first thing we watch in the morning (every morning!) so we can get about 6 more minutes of sleep.  When he hears it come on, he runs over lightning fast to watch.
His vocabulary has grown so much in the last month and I'm so amazed at all that he can say.  To name a few, he can clearly say:  Mom, Dad, Josh, Mammaw, Pappaw, Jaidie, Kitty, Dog, Annabelle, Elmo, outside, cracker, no, please, ball, eyes, nose, toe, puzzle, baby, hi, bye, tractor, ba-ba (paci), and be-be (blankie).
He knows where his eyes and nose are and will point to them when asked.
When he's tired, he plays with and twirls his hair...just like his Dad does.
He loves to eat, and will eat pretty much anything that I put in front of him.
He feeds himself with a fork and a spoon.
He is a little shy around strangers (this has just started) and he will cling to me or Josh if he's in an unfamilar setting.
He loves to dance and listen to music.
He LOVES marshmallows.  I didn't realize how deep his love for this food was until one day in the grocery store we passed over them without putting any in the cart.  Everyone in the store got to witness a major Mason meltdown...I mean kicking and screaming while laying on the ground kinda meltdown.
He loves to snuggle with his Mom and Dad, and my favorite part of the day is our few minutes each night when we rock in the rocking chair before going to sleep.
He loves shoes and socks and brings these to us to put on him several times a day.
He WILL take his diaper off if he's not wearing pants.
He sleeps in his own bed every night and wakes up very happy around 6:30am (this is why we turn to "Dancing with Triangles" for those few extra minutes of sleep.)
He loves doing puzzles, and will sit next to me and listen while I read him a book.
He loves his paci and his blankie.
Unfortunately, he's learned how to bite and hit to get what he wants, and is now learning what it's like to sit in "time out".  While he's taking a time out, he puts on a big production of giving you his saddest face ever with big tears in his eyes...he is great at making me feel horrible for punishing him.  I rarely make it to 1 minute before I'm scooping him up to give him a hug.  It's very hard for me to do this, but I do think it is helping.
He loves to sneak drinks of his Dad's green tea and steal bites of his protein bars.
He likes to brush his teeth, and actually does a really good job.
He (and Jaidie too) love listening to Adele with me in the car.  They enjoy the entire CD, but prefer one song -- Someone like You.  Jaidie thinks it's Meggi singing and Mason claps his hands when it starts. Jaidie asks me to play her "favorite song". They typically want this song played on repeat and we listen to it everyday -- it used to be one of my favorites too, but not so much now ;)  I know it's not typical Toddler music, but it works for us!
Whenever he's upset, or hurt, or tired, he always wants his Mama...he wraps his little arms around my neck sososo tight and lays his head down on my shoulder.  To me, this is heaven.
