Our time in Michigan!
We needed this little get away...
we needed time together as a family, away from work and home, and the never ending chaos that is our life right now.
And we all came home refreshed and happy,
and ready to dive right back into the craziness of our lives
 sorta kinda...
well not really, but life goes on.
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again...
I could move to Michigan in a heartbeat!!!
It's peaceful and quiet and everyone is oh so friendly.
And sometimes it's nice to be away,
just away from it all.
 
We rented a little house by the lake and relaxed with our children and closest friends
and it was perfectly perfect.
 
And I miss it already.

Teaching Mason and Marcus the art of making s'mores in 2 simple steps:
 
1. Cram your marshmallow into the fire with a stick until it catches fire...
2. when it comes out flaming you'll know you've cooked it perfectly!!
 
I don't share the same cooking method...preferring mine a nice golden brown.









We spent a day in St. Joseph, a town that brings back lots of happy memories, and one that I plan on returning to frequently :)

Our Trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. One last getaway before our kids headed back to school and this one couldn't have been more perfect!  I highly recommend seeing these amazing Falls at least once in your lifetime!  We did all things tourist-y and I wanted to share some of our favorites if you're ever looking to take a trip North. Mason and Vince's Mini-Room Makeover.

The boys have been begggging for bunk beds for YEARS -  and to get ready for our next newest addition in November, we finally gave in to their pleas and they're now sharing a room! For not a whole lot of money, I think it turned out super cute.  I'll post the deets here if any of you are looking for a quick remodel for a shared brothers bedroom. The wall I did completely on my own, only using a tape measure, level, and razor blade!!  Originally I had wanted an authentic restored barn wood - but the $1200 price tag made me quickly change my mind.  Instead, I picked this up at Lowe's for less than $1 a square foot.  I had never attempted a project like this at all, but after watching just a few YouTube videos I felt like it was something I could certainly tackle on my own.  I did apply just a thin layer of additional glue before I put each peel 'n stick panel to the wall.  Total cost for this Driftwood Gray weathered wood wall was le...
